We are entered in The Animal Rescue Site's [link] Shelter Challenge [link]

We are a VERY small shelter & it's so very hard to compete with the big dawgs...lol

It would seem that the people that have been voting for us have forgotten about us...

We have been in "business" since Jan 31st 2008 and we've just gotten a building about 3 months ago. NO ONE that works for us get paid a cent...there are only 6 of us. A few volunteers work for a few days the disappear because it look like there's no hope that we will ever become a "real" shelter. WE WILL!!

About 1,700 animals have been through our shelter & foster homes since opening...we are also S.P.C.A. officers that investigate cruelty, abuse, abandonment. & neglect cases. Sometimes we have to confiscate animals until the owners comply with the laws, but we don't even charge "boarding". When someone complies we check it, & if everything is ok, they get their animal back....free & clear...

We do NOT receive any state or local funding...nothing. A few donations here & there & we keep our adoption fees very low compared to other local organizations $100.00 for dogs & $25.00 for cats...Adoptions are down because of the economy & it's puppy & kitten season. Which means we are over loaded!
